Macabre at Free State Arts Festival
Macabre is an immersive theatre experience. From a modern-day South African vantage point, the play delves into the experience of senescence and abandonment. This site-specific psychological suspense play invites small audiences for an exclusive intimate experience. Macabre is a story of guilt, loss, and remorse sparked by the dramatic collision between Maude’s past and Abel’s future.
Fezile Mpela is an Stage, film and television South African actor. A multi-lingual voice over artist for both corporate and commercial mediums in English, Zulu, Sesotho and Setswana , who has over the past three decades, lent his voice to local and international productions such as; and the Sorcerer and Zulu translation of The lion king as the older Simba. On the local front commercials and corporate events are not complete without the signature sound of Fezile Mpela as your audio score exclamation. The latest caps to be donned are that of producer for the popular met Rugby. Fezile is also the latest face of life insurance commercials.
Judy Ditchfield is probably best known for her role as Stella Fouche in the South African award-winning daily soap Isidingo, and Mrs Rabinowitz in Ses Top’la but her career began more than 30 years before that, as a founder member of the Loft Theatre Company in Durban. After moving to Johannesburg, Judy worked in predominantly theatre, film, and television. She is currently working extensively in the corporate market as a writer, actor, business role player and trainer/facilitator.
