From its premiere at the National Arts Festival, where is won a Standard Bank Encore Award, Choir Boy features UJ Arts Academy students, alongside respected professional actors Renos Spanoudes and Lebohang Motaung. Written by Tarell Alvin McCraney, and directed by Tshego Khutsoane, it tells the story of a young man who wants nothing more than to take his rightful place as leader of the school’s legendary gospel choir.
