UJ Choir raises its voice in a celebration

Join the University of Johannesburg Choir, under the auspices of UJ Arts & Culture, in celebrating the close of a joyful and successful year. On 25 October 2019 at 19:30, at the St. Michael and All Angels’ Anglican Church, Weltevreden Park, the choir will share the year’s experiences in a concert that holds beauty of the sights and sounds of nature at its heart.

Under the excellent leadership of renowned conductor, Renette Bouwer, the UJ Choir will present their most varied experimental repertoire yet, with a fresh new feel of African music conducted by protégé, Sizwe Mondlane.

Formed in 2005 from the former RAU Choir and RAU Chorale, UJ Choir has taken gold in both its categories (Mixed Choirs Western music repertoire and Folk Music A Cappella) at the World Choir Games 2018. The choir consists of UJ students studying a range of qualifications that do not include music.

The UJ Choir’s Celebration Concert will be presented on Friday, 25 October at 19:30 at the St. Michael and All Angels’ Anglican Church (1123 Cornelius St, Weltevredenpark, Roodepoort, 1709). Tickets: R100 (R50 Students/Pensioners).
