GogoSpeaks: Purpose and Prosperity

GogoSpeaks “Purpose and Prosperity” is the 4th in the annual GogoSpeaks series. The talk will give practical tools and guidance to those who wish to maximise their potential, soothe internal anxieties, and participate in positive and progressive ways in their lives, relationships and communities. A central focus of the talk is thriving in and with love – self love, community love and romantic love.

In GogoSpeaks, Sangoma, Mother, Wife Nokulinda Mkhize shares her knowledge and experience of indigenous healing practices in a modern, urban context. The series GogoSpeaks focuses on working with intergenerational trauma and decolonising ideas around healing and indigenous spiritual beliefs.

Audience Responses
couldnt find venue and found more value from the Q&A sessions versus the initial presentation. Very little on prosperity and zip on career even though i’ve been able to connect the dots using the content. Aspects on community were prominent so a balance would’ve been nice. The mimosa’s were a great idea. Great convos and opportunity to bond nicely with my sister so thank you.

I really enjoyed the afternoon. Getting out of the campus was a challenge. Some information accompanying the tickets, about which gate would be open, would be helpful.

The event is a great opportunity to gain perspective and learn more about African spirituality. Being in it’s fourth year, I was hoping for a more in depth and focused discussion on people’s challenges with purpose and prosperity from her experience in consultation and how people have worked through that with African spirituality. The event was lighthearted and provided reflection for people starting their journey with spirituality.
