It Has To Be Jazz Jazz is not Lost

It Has To Be Jazz® started off to prove that the youth is more than ready to take over the jazz legacy. Now that 2019 has come around the new mission for this year is to show that jazz is not lost.

In partnership with UJ Arts & Culture (a division of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Johannesburg), It Has To Be Jazz ® will not only be hosting its next event on the 8th of March 2019 at the UJ Arts Centre, it will be working with UJ Arts & Culture to identify members for and mentor the next UJ Soweto Jazz Band. One member of the UJ Soweto Jazz Band will also be given the opportunity to be a part of the next It Has To Be Jazz® album recording.  Through doing this we will show that the youth has more to offer than what most people know, and prove without a shadow of a doubt that Jazz is not lost. Stay tuned to It Has To Be Jazz ® social media platforms to see how the journey is coming along and see the new, young, professional artists.

Jazz is not lost. With recent times there has been a lot of confusion of what jazz is and if it is still, alive. We have found that jazz is spreading to more venues and though jazz heaven has called back many of our legends, we are fortunate enough to have the legacy they left behind to build on.  It Has To Be Jazz® is here to bring people together to experience the feeling of jazz and show that jazz is not lost. Join us at UJ Arts Centre on the 8th of March 2019 to see for yourself.
